OUR FIRST EVENT: Thursday May 21st at 8pm is already SOLD OUT. But we have two more 50:50 networking events in June and July. Go to eventbrite to reserve your FREE ticket now!

We live in unprecedented times and they call for a new engagement with democracy, new ways of doing politics, new ideas and new people pushing for change.

If you despair of how the world has responded to the challenge of coronavirus and you want to do more than watch from the sidelines, then you might be ready to change politics – forever. Imagine a Parliament where women and men made decisions about our country in equal numbers?

As we have seen worldwide, women have been overrepresented in the frontline fight against the pandemic but they have been underrepresented among groups of decision makers. Yet some observers have noted that female leaders appear to have had greater success in navigating the early stages of the crisis.

As Frances Scott, founder of 50:50 Parliament, says: “Westminster should be leading the way in showing respect for women, their experience and opinions.”

Facing reality
Last year 50:50 joined the Equal Power campaign, a fantastic coalition of women’s groups working together to inspire and empower women.

Although face-to-face campaigning has stopped for now, Equal Power is taking its campaign online and offering FREE events and training opportunities for women across the UK. Even better, you can join our campaign from the comfort of your own home!

Over the next three months 50:50 is offering fantastic opportunities to hear directly from some of the women inspired by our campaign and who are now MPs.

Be inspired by Rosie Duffield (Labour), Wendy Chamberlain (Liberal Democrats) and Claire Coutinho (Conservative).

In this interactive online workshop you will be able to put questions to these three wonderful MPs, and be motivated by their stories.

What’s more you will meet members of the 50:50 team, including founder Frances Scott, who will explain how you can get involved in our campaign by Signing Up To Stand

You will learn how to build your Personal Political Profile, and to take the next steps into politics. The 50:50 team will introduce you to some of our 50:50 buddies, who are there to support and encourage you on your journey.

Never walk alone
If you register with Equal Power today you will hear about many more FREE online events in the coming months from our partners – the Parliament Project, Citizens UK, Glitch, and Muslim Women’s Network.

The Equal Power campaign is led by the Fawcett Society and funded by Comic Relief. Over the next 3 years Equal Power will offer training to 4,500 women, with a focus on local and national politics, as well as community organizing, and will make a special effort to include women facing additional barriers because of their race or religion.

Don’t miss the chance to meet the 50:50 team and three fabulous MPs via Zoom to explore how you can take your first steps in politics. Register with Equal Power and #SignUpToStand with 50:50 Parliament today!
50:50 Parliament helps women get selected and elected with our #AskHerToStandand #SignUpToStand campaigns.
In the 2019 UK general election fifty of the women standing were part of 50:50 and nine went on to win seats in the Commons.
We work with all the political parties to empower women into politics.
When women #SignUpToStand via we help them build their Personal Political Profiles and allocate “buddies” building a New Girls Network, women supporting women, along the path to Parliament.
