What data we collect
We collect standard web usage data about visitors to our site (e.g. your IP address, and details of which version of web browser you used). This data is not linked to any personal identifier.
If you fill in a subscription form, we collect your email address and any additional information you provide in the form.
When we send you an email, we collect data on how you use our emails - for example whether you open them and which links you click on.
If you fill in the #SignUpToStand form we will contact you directly. We refer to this as candidate data. Further information candidates share with us (e.g. over the phone or by email) may be added to the data on an ad-hoc basis.
If you fill in the #AskHerToStand form, in addition to your details we also collect the email address and name of the person you are nominating. We refer to this as nominator and nominee data.
What we use your data for
Web usage data can be viewed by the campaign management and website teams and is used to improve the quality of the website and understand the impact of the campaign.
Subscription data can be viewed by the campaign's data manager, email editorial team and volunteer management teams. The data is used to send emails and, in the case of the Ambassador subscriptions, manage volunteers.
#SignUpToStand candidate data is shared with the appropriate Director, who maintains a (password protected) list of candidates. This is used to help us contact and support candidates.
AskHerToStand nominee data is used to send a single automated email to the nominee. If the nominee later registers their interest via the #SignUpToStand form, or subscribes to a mailing list, the nominator and nominee data is merged with the new subscription data and retained. After the initial email is sent to the nominee, the data is not used again, unless the nominee subscribes. AskHerToStand nominator data is referenced in the automated email sent to the nominee. It is used for no other purpose.
Where your data is stored
